Download

Download, then check what you downloaded.

The version, size and checksum on this page are read from the release feed when you open it. If the feed cannot be reached, the page says so instead of guessing. Every download comes from this site, and the verify steps below let you confirm it.

Checking the latest version…Version details need JavaScript. The link below always downloads the current Mac release.

Mac: DevOS Companion

The menu bar app that runs the bridge on your Mac. The app checks the same release manifest for updates.

Check the signature and Apple notarization yourself with the verify steps below.

Mac: standalone bridge Advanced

Only the bridge, as a single signed command-line file for a Mac that does not run the Companion. There is no Linux or Windows build on this page.

Install with this command. The GitHub copy stays the canonical one. Verify it first (below) if you would rather read it before it runs.

curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/JongoDB-Labs/devos-ade/main/install.sh | bash

DevOS ADE is free and open source (MIT). Companion, Mobile and the relay are free to download during the beta; paid plans are planned and not yet available.

iPhone and iPad

Beta by invitation through TestFlight. This does not come from the download feed and has no version here.

A TestFlight link appears here when one is confirmed.

Android Planned

Phones and tablets are planned. No date. There is no sign-up form yet and this site collects nothing.

Verify your download

These commands fill in the version and checksum that the feed above reports. Until it loads they show angle-bracket placeholders. Each step says what it proves and what it does not.

1. Compare the checksum

Expected SHA-256 for the Mac Companion: <checksum, once the feed loads>

shasum -a 256 ~/Downloads/DevOS-Companion-<VERSION>.dmg

The output must equal the expected value above, character for character. This proves the file matches what was published. It does not prove the publisher is trustworthy.

2. Check Apple’s notarization

spctl -a -t open --context context:primary-signature -vv ~/Downloads/DevOS-Companion-<VERSION>.dmg
xcrun stapler validate ~/Downloads/DevOS-Companion-<VERSION>.dmg

Expect “accepted” with “source=Notarized Developer ID”, and “The validate action worked!”. Notarization is an Apple malware scan, not an audit.

3. After copying to Applications

spctl -a -vv "/Applications/DevOS Companion.app"
codesign --verify --deep --strict -vv "/Applications/DevOS Companion.app"

This checks the installed app is signed by a Developer ID.

Standalone bridge

Expected SHA-256 for the bridge: <checksum, once the feed loads>

shasum -a 256 ~/Downloads/devos-<VERSION>
codesign -dv --verbose=2 ~/Downloads/devos-<VERSION> 2>&1 | grep TeamIdentifier

The TeamIdentifier must be <team, once the feed loads>. The checksum proves the file is the published one; the team proves who signed it.

DevOS ADE: verify first

Expected SHA-256 of the installer: <checksum, once the feed loads>

Expected SHA-256 of the source tarball: <checksum, once the feed loads>

shasum -a 256 ~/Downloads/devos-ade-install-<VERSION>.sh
shasum -a 256 ~/Downloads/devos-ade-<VERSION>.tar.gz

On Linux use sha256sum in place of shasum -a 256. Each output must equal its expected value above, character for character. Then read the installer before you run it:

less ~/Downloads/devos-ade-install-<VERSION>.sh
bash ~/Downloads/devos-ade-install-<VERSION>.sh

A matching checksum proves the file is the one published for that release. It does not prove the publisher is trustworthy, and the installer on GitHub’s main branch can be newer than the release.

Do not run a downloaded bridge on a machine you care about just to see its version. Verify it with the steps above instead.

When something is wrong, the page says so

  • The release feed is unreachable: the page says “Latest version unavailable” and offers a retry. It never shows an old version as if it were current.
  • The file and the feed disagree, for example while a release is being published: the download answers with a short message and you can try again.
  • Gatekeeper warns: do not open the file. Re-download it and run the checksum step.
